I just got back from Elements At the Hudson, Not a bad party at all, of course i did leave early, the party is still going on aas we speak, i mainly went to see Hatiras perform his set, and that shit was insane, Dirty Electro at it's finest, Low Low Low percussion hits, mixed in with that Full round bass, and some party lyrics, with heavy Synth Effects. OMG What a night it was, too bad my brothers weren't there to enjoy this one. However I had an epic time.. So of course for you today I have some Hatiras.

P.S. Stayed a little bit for Wolfgang Gartner, that was pretty good, not enough to make me stay though. I think Hatiras should have headlined. Although Wolfgang was amazing too. =)

Everyone's Rocking with MJ Right Now.

After a few weeks of M's passing, the billboard charts reached an unexpected records sales for Jacksons music. Michael Jackson has made history yet again, it seems like his passing has sparked a whole new re-discovered love for his music. I happy for a few reasons. The main reason I am happy is the way the media handled it. Until recently I believe the press focused more on how strange he acted or the allegations that he was a pedophile. They placed a negativite image against his persona and made attempts to shatter his pride and integrity by exploiting him. Crazy the way he died.

But like I said I am impressed that the media chose to focus on something more important. Michael Jackson as an artist. First and foremost Michael Jackson has been in the music industry earlier than any kid can dream of. Jacksons record sales, number of chart topping hits, dance moves that seemed to defy the natural laws of physics. All these aspects of the man, a musically talented genius. Jackson has left behind him a legacy that will never be forgotten. Michael Jackson was able to bring together the people in masses. For some, and I read this somewhere, Michael Jackson was a sort of religion to them.

Well forgive me goddamn.

Just got back from EDC this morning, lied down and watched tv for a bit then knocked right out.. EDC ws soooo epic, i was so impressed with this years line up, the first night was sooo good, ATB was Cool as hell, i left the first night early but still was able to hear the boyz noize set from the car, what a great set they had, i missed paul oakenfold the legend but it was cool I've got tons of cd's i'm sure a live performance would have been legit. The second night was packed, not like the first night where you could get into any area or on any ride cuz the lines were short, but since they're were more people the second night, waiting in line was like wasting a lot of your time and you risked missing some epic performers. I was most impressed with the cosmic meadow stage, of course the kinetic field was bomb as always but the cosmic meadows had some great shows.

So anyways i'm preparing now for hard haunted festival in october so i won't be out there for awhile again. Check this though, I made a mix to listen to on the way to EDC i didn't have much time to post it cuz it's over an hour, so i'm posting it today... For all you Mau5heads, this is for you.

In the Sky...

Such an Incredible memorial day. Went out to Hermosa Beach for the art festival and was justenjoying all the cool shit out there.

Basically everything was hella awesome and the music was good too, got into some really cool art and music while there. The waves at the beach were crazy. Wish I had a wetsuit and a surfboard. Hope everyone had as good of a memorial day as I did.

I had a dream....

Last night no lie I had the craziest dream, my dream was me going to Rick Ross's superb mansion in the hills and having a sick ass talk with him, like we knew each other or something. Well there's this big controversy regarding him faking his whole story, about being a major drug cartel in miami and actually making millions from that. Granted a lot of his money had come from rapping, no one can deny the guy has lyrical skills, and isn't that all that matters? His Lyrics were about this so called "Thug" lifestyle, and they even got pics of him from the past.. Supposedly he was a correctional officer before coining the name rick ross, which in turn is actually the name of a real drug cartel from California in the 1980's by the name of "Freeway" Ricky Ross. The "Freeway" Ricky Ross was actually sentenced to life in prison, I doubt he'll be following attempting to sue Rick Ross for the name scandal. Here's the story on the Rick Ross's Correctional fiasco as i like to call it.


So here continues my dream, i had an exclusive interview with the man himself, however i can't remember what questions i had asked him. I know that i concluded this...Rick Ross is an entertainer, no matter how much we'd like to think he was something before it doesn't matter, personally his lyrical scheme is decent, Deeper than Rap is his new album and has just been released, he's got a whole new swagger and feel to the album here, and with the j.u.s.t.i.c.e league doing his production the album is solid gold.

With that being said, let's take a throwback Rick Ross track and put up a new reiteration of it by Paul Anthony and ZXX The beat switches up a few times here so listen all the way through.

A new song up today not too sure. Getting to know analog is a little bit difficult when you've been working with sofsynth's on the daily. well anyways im goin to put up the new song for the day.

It's a track by a guy who calls himself baby diamonds.....I believe he's from out of San Diego and performed at this years HARD13 put on by Nitrus Event's. Check his site, he's done a couple of remixes as well what stood out to me was the thong song by sisqo, didn't think i'd be hearing that in a long time. Shooting stars has a driving lead, and sound a little Boyz Noize like.

Technology Tuesday

Woke up this morning with a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket so I decided to take a look and do some research on some keyboards...I checked out one in particular called xiosynth by Novation..This 49, also available in 25, key analog is synthesizer is well spent value for money, oh and did i mention i picked one up i was so impressed.. It's got 3 OSCILLATORS, 16 Waveforms and an appreggiater as well. Amongst the three osc's, the 11 assignable knobs have 2 modes so it's really 22 assignable knobs. The Synth can also link up with your favorite DAW software and can sync up with some of the most popular VST's. The synth comes with 200 presets, 60 of which were created by award winning artist like Ferry Corsten and Roots Manuva. Once i pulled it out of the box and plugged it in, the sounds that emanated were amazing, nowhere have i experienced sound from a keyboard this size and weight. The power supply is either USB, AC Adaptor, or even 6 AA batteries. The keyboard also comes with some free drum loops and software. It's even got inputs for microphone with phantom power. I can say i'm way impressed with this synthesizer. Check out the vid yourself.

The video does not do the instrument justice, he just bends a few sounds, the real power is in the actual creation of your own sounds.

Monday Funday,

An Amazing concert put together by the folks at insomniac and channel 36...Audiotistic was a mass gathering of hip hop heads and rave stars all in one place to enjoy and share their love of music. The line wasn't so long, and it only took about 30 minutes for me to get in. Z-trip put on a hell of a show..

Right after that The roots put on a great performance, it's nice to know that the hip hop staple sound is still being kept alive and turntablism and digging for vinyls is still going on in this digital age.. The House/Trance Room was great and Above Beyond came through with an amazing set.

Thanks for that performance and even the set played by Donald Glaude was amazing..

The night ended well, as far as i know everyone was safe and had a really good time, it's been awhile since the scene has had this kind of greatness and it was all about one thing, the music.

yes it's a deadmau5 post today..... is there something wrong with that. This is the dirty disco youth remix version of ghosts n stuff...I think it's a little more funky and crazier than the original version, great to toss into a mix... really.

It's Called the Lemur, and it's not that expensive in the world of music production, for what it does, however, I'm not sure if i would pass it for another midi controller, this one's special cause it's got a mulit-touch control surface, and the templates for the screens are completely customizable. Perfect for performing live.

The first post

Well i guess we'll start with what this site actually is. it's a blog...lol. but really i want to start posting my mixes up here once or twice a week if it's at least at all possible. Today i'm just gonna post a picture of some shit, and give you a link to a cool song. They call me Dj Myxr .Yes iRave, but I'm only doing my job, like right now, eating a bag of sour patch kids typing this shit...f*** there i go rambling again...
